4th of July in Park City

We headed up to Park City last weekend to celebrate the 4th of July! I absolutely love Park City! We spent our time shopping at the outlets (pretty much all for the bebe...this was the first time I didn't even look for anything for myself. Probably because nothing would fit...), riding the Alpine Slide and Coaster (everyone but me...I watched), playing volleyball in the pool, eating at Baja Cantina (Finally satisfied my craving for Mexican food that I've had for a couple weeks!), a visit to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and watching the amazing fireworks show right outside our condo!

We had a minor injury when Derek shot a bottle rocket at the back of Rhett's head...luckily no blood, just a good scare and a nice goose egg.

Baby Shower!

My cute friends threw little Beck and I our first baby shower! Tonii, Mary Ann and Kristin played off of my husband's love of the game and came up with the most adorable ideas for a Baseball themed shower! We had a great time! This definitely made reality set it a bit more....seeing all of the little baby stuff and knowing that I was going to be using all of it for my baby! Still pretty crazy :) Thanks to everyone who came....we felt so loved and it was so good to see everyone! And a big thanks to you girls for throwing the shower for us...you guys are the best!

Home Stretch!

Here I am at 30 weeks!!
I can't believe I'm already at 30 weeks! The last 4 months have flown by! I went to the Dr. yesterday and everything looks great....well, minus the numbers on the scale :) I think I'm going to stop looking from now on! I'm measuring right on schedule and little Beck has moved head down in "launch position." No wonder when I stand up, I all of a sudden have to pee! I now start going to the Dr. every two weeks...which is crazy to me that we're already to that point! He's going to be here before we know it!

What I'm lovin':

• Feeling and seeing him move all day long! He is so active and only occasionally will jab me in the lungs or hips.
• Watermelon and Cereal- can't get enough of either one :)
• Listening to Travis talk to his son. Just when I thought I couldn't love him more...
• Having Beck already obey his daddy. If he ever isn't wanting to settle down at night, all Travis has to do is talk to him and he'll immediately calm down and let me sleep.
• Skirts. Comfortable and cool. They are going to save me during these last two, hot, months. That and taking two showers everyday :)
• Spin class. Since running has been nixed, I have been loving spinning! We'll see how much longer I can bend over...
• My pregnant belly. I really do love it. I can't say the same about my pregnant butt and thighs, but it's so nice now to have people ask when I'm due instead of just looking at my belly trying to decide if there's a baby in there. There's no hiding it now!
• Having an excuse to go get ice cream just because it sounds good.

Although I can't quite say that I LOVE being pregnant, I am enjoying it right now. It is an amazing feeling and I feel so lucky to be growing this little boy!

Starting the nursery

I finally found what I was looking for...
The perfect fabric for our baby's Baseball nursery.
You see, I knew I wanted to do his nursery in a baseball theme, but anything that I could find was cheesy and not what I wanted. So I decided to make my own. I'm probably crazy....its quite a big project to take on for someone as new to sewing as myself. But I've got a great sewing mentor that will hold my hand every step of the way.
This friend/mentor found this fabric for me and I fell in love. She even pulled some strings and took me to the distributor so that I could get swatches because it hasn't even been made yet and doesn't come out until August! While I may be cutting it a little close to when I'm going to have this bebe, at least I can get started painting and accessorizing now that I have the exact colors to match.

The big stars is going to be the crib bumper, with the stripes as the binding/piping on top.
The dark and light blue dots/stripes is going to be the crib skirt.
I'll buy red sheets to match and use the other fabrics for the quilt and other random accessories like curtains, basket liners, etc. I'm going to applique a baseball and glove on the quilt (well, my friend is), and I already have some baseball accessories to incorporate as well. I'm getting really excited....its all starting to come together how I had envisioned it!! I'll post updates as the progress continues!

Side note...I had my first baby shower last night and it was a blast! I'm just waiting on pictures from my sis and then I'll post about that! We got spoiled and feel so loved!

Its time for a little privacy

I don't want to do it. I really don't. But the time has come to make our blog private.
I know its a pain to have to log in everytime, but hopefully those who really love us will still make the effort.
I know that it won't come up on google reader anymore, so people will forget to check it.
I know it puts a damper on blog stalking, and we know we all enjoy a little blog surfing now and again.
I know that it makes it difficult to get in touch with old friends.

But having our blog public makes it very easy for crazies to get a little too close to our lives. And that has always made me uneasy. Even more so now that we're adding a baby into the mix.
I also find myself holding back on things I post because I dont' know who exactly is reading my blog.

So, I've got to take the plunge into privacy.

He has a name!

We've struggled a bit with the name game...we have thrown out hundreds of names for our little guy and haven't been able to agree on any! We had 3 names we both liked if it would have been a girl, but boys names have been so much harder. Travis actually suggested the name I have been in love with from the start, but then of course doesn't like it now...go figure. I wasn't a big fan of the name Travis wanted, so we had kind of settled on a "2nd best" name that we both at least liked.
But I didn't really want to settle.
Well that was until Travis presented his "Deal of the Century" (as he referred to it) to me. The terms are as follows:
I get my name now, if he can have his name for our next boy.
Done and Done. We shook hands and now this baby has a name!

Beck Charlie

I LOVE his name...so much that I can even handle the other end of the deal...that is, IF we have another boy :)
And now I don't feel bad about Travis just giving in and letting me have my way, because he gets his too!

Hiking and the Rodeo

We went on another fabulous hike last weekend...this time up American Fork Canyon to Silver Lake. I'll have to admit I was a little nervous to take my ever growing pregnant body on this hike that was almost 5 miles...but I was pleasantly surprised and it wasn't bad at all. Granted I waddled around the rest of the night...but still. Kim and Clay joined us this time and as incredibly gorgeous as the hike was, I have to say the highlight had to be Kim giving me a tutorial on how to use the wilderness as a restroom! Yes, this was my first time peeing outside...there was no way around it. Mother nature and I grew a little bit closer that day.

Herriman City Rodeo!!
