Cole's 1st Birthday!

My nephew Cole turned one on Monday and Ashlee of course threw a fabulous party! It was "bug" themed and she had pin the dots on the butterfly, little bug catcher favors for the kids, a darling caterpillar cake, and "bug" balloons! Ash does such a good job with parties and always goes all out (the 80's party was hers also!). I can't believe Cole is already one! Travis and I were dating when he was born and I instantly fell in love with this little boy! He has the cutest, sweetest personality, and I absolutely love his smile! I must admit that he's my favorite :) Sorry Rissa, you know I love your kids to death too, but there is just something about Cole that has got me! Once again Ash, thanks for the great party!

Here's the big birthday boy! Isn't he absolutely adorable?!

Truly Man's Best Friend!

I got a request for a Cooper update, so here you go Buff! Cooper is doing so good! He is making major strides in potty training! He now scratches at the door when he needs to go potty, so we are loving that! Seriously, when he does that it makes me so proud, let alone so happy that we don't have to clean up his crap anywhere in the house! I just have to say that if any of you get a puppy at any time in your life, you MUST crate train them! That is the key to your happiness when it comes to a puppy. We started off by just locking him in our kitchen with a baby gate while we were gone at work, which was fine, but he didn't know where he was supposed to go to the bathroom, which led to us cleaning up multiple "accidents" in our kitchen everyday! Yea, not so fun. So finally we gave in to many people's advice and kept him in his crate while we were gone. I initially felt really bad for leaving him is such a confined space for so long, but now he is pretty much potty trained and has only gone in our house twice in over two weeks!! (The dogs won't go to the bathroom in their crate, because it is "their" space) Needless to say we are all much happier!

Cooper absolutely LOVES Travis! He follows him everywhere! Whenever Travis leaves before I do, Cooper always roams the house for a few minutes looking for him. He is always with Travis over me and is always SO excited when he comes home! Travis just loves it. I guess they were meant for eachother! Cooper loves to crawl all around and over Travis' neck. That's his favorite place to be, so I had to take a few pictures of it, because it really is so cute. Yes that bottom one is in the car while Travis is driving! Anyway, we love him and he is definitely fun to have around the house! (even with his constant chewing on everything...he is a puppy, I keep telling myself!)

Listen to this...Ridiculous I say!

Ok, I just have to vent a little bit about how ridiculous Herriman City is. Up until now, I have loved Herriman. Yea it's a little far out there, but I really like it! But I had a little experience last week that tainted my view of our little city. So I got a letter from our HOA last week saying that we had an Overdue Utilities Balance and it has been turned over to the HOA and now we are responsible for paying the HOA. I checked our Gas and Power and neither one was overdue, nor did they amount to the total that the letter said we owed. So I called the HOA and apparently Herriman City charges each homeowner...are you ready...$25/month for public safety AND $5/month for parks! Can you believe that? I thought that was what our taxes went for! I mean they have got to be making bank on these ludicrous monthly "utilities"! I really couldn't believe that. Anyway, we have never received a bill for these charges and we've lived their 8 months mind you. So I called Herriman City and she said that the bills were being sent to some random address...at first I thought it was Travis' parents house, because it was on their street, but the house number is different. Why in the world would they send a bill for charges for a "Herriman City homeowner" to a address is South Jordan? I guess now we are responsible for an extra $30/month. Has anyone else heard of charges like this before? Thanks for letting me vent a bit :)

A little bright spot...

Today was the first time I have been to the gym in 2 weeks...not by choice I might add. My caring husband banned me from the gym because I haven't been feeling very well the past couple weeks. (Its a good thing I have him, becuase sometimes I don't know when to stop) The doctor said I have an Iron Deficiency and so I've been put on Iron supplements. Anyway, I haven't felt up to doing much of anything, always being tired and nauseaus. Last night I got plenty of sleep and told myself if I slept in that I could venture to the gym. I was so excited at the thought. For those who don't know, I am completely obsessed with the gym and working out. I have always enjoyed exercising and then I majored in Exercise and Sport Science and that just fueled my desires to be healthy. As soon as I stepped foot in the gym this morning, I immediately got a huge smile on my face. I can't even tell you how good it felt to run, and sweat, and make my muscles completely tired. I love the feeling of a good, hard workout and because it had been a couple weeks, it made me appreciate it that much more! I know some of you are probably like "Big deal, you went to the gym" but it feels so good to be exercising and to know that I'm doing so much good for my heart, my lungs, my weight, and my whole body! The other day I was talking to my mom and she thanked me for being such a good influence on my family in terms of exercising and eating healthy. To me that was a huge compliment! It means so much to me to think that I can help make others healthier!
So here's to small and simple things that can make our days better and our lives happier!

Reliving the 80's!!

Last weekend my sister-in-law, Ashlee, threw a surprise 80's themed birthday party for her husband! She put on quite the party filled with awesome 80's food, jellie bracelets, a 80's TV show theme song trivia game (which Travis totally loved and completely dominated in!!), 80's catch phrase (brought back all of the stupid little phrases we used to use...gotta love em!), and of course all the 80's music you could ever want! We had so much fun shopping for our outfits at Saver's and DI, Travis even won a slinky for Best Male Costume. Rissa and Ryan surprised everyone and showed up in the middle of the party with their adorable twins! Rissa even outfitted Chance and Logan in 80's attire...it was so cute! Thanks Ash for the fabulous party...we had a blast!

Here's my wonderful sister-in-laws, Joclyn, Rissa and Ashlee. I still can't believe I wore those tight leggings!

Don't you love Travis' windbreaker from the '84 Olympics...and who can forget the fannypack?!
Dall and Joss, with her growing baby belly...she's due in September!
Bryan's brother-in-law rockin out in his blonde mullet...I'm pretty sure he was singing Madonna :)
Bryan's sister and sister-in-law performing as fabulous back up dancers!
The birthday boy himself, sporting the beloved trend of pegged pants!

Here's some of the food...sixlets, mike&ikes, PopRocks, and the aweosme Rubix cube cake!
Trav and Dall
Chance and Logan....I loved Chance's glasses and Logan's little leggings!

It was so fun to get to see Ry and Rissa from St.George! Glad you made the trip guys!

Happy Birthday to Travis!

Yesterday my awesome husband turned 30! Everyone (except him) has been freaking out about him turning 30...for whatever reason it doesn't sound that old to me...I'm sure it'll be different when its me. Hopefully he doesn't kill me for this, but I had to post a little tribute to him and the wonderful man he is. He is the most amazing husband and friend! He is always making me laugh, he is so patient and loving, he motivates me to do better and is always thinking of me and my needs. And after all that, he is a fabulous cook and helps me out with keeping our house clean. How lucky am I?? I could go on and on, but I'll end with just saying I love him more than I ever thought possible!! Happy Birthday Trav, I hope you had a great day!

I tried to tie a bow around Cooper since this was Travis' main present, but he wasn't having it and spent the next half an hour trying to get it off! Doesn't he look so cute in this picture? And I'm talking about Travis...not the dog :)

Another adorable Jace-ism!

This was too cute not to post! We were eating dinner last night at Travis' parents, when Jace suddenly bursts out in song (which is not a rare occasion), this time it was the recently learned 2nd verse of the primary song "Nephi's Courage." It was so adorable, I hurried and grabbed my camera and asked him to sing it again. He was happy to be the center of attention and gladly agreed to my request. So here he is singing his little heart out, with his hands going crazy. He stops singing if you try and stop his hands :) This video is proof that this child really is the entertainment of our get togethers! Last night he had us laughing so hard that I asked everyone what they did before he was born! I mean it had to be boring around there. But apparently, there was a lot more adult conversation that had everyone just as entertained...just a hunch, but I'm guessing that Rissa was a big part of that :)

My camera cut him off at 30 seconds, so you don't get the whole chorus...sorry!

A new addition......

We got a puppy! Cooper joined our family yesterday! Travis has wanted a dog forever and I finally gave in and got Cooper for his birthday! He really is adorable. He loves to cuddle and have his tummy scratched. Travis is thrilled and like a little boy with his excitement! It's really cute and I love being able to make him so happy, it makes me happy! It's so funny how much Cooper is like a little child, as I'm sure any of you dog owners are aware of. Travis' mom told her work that this was the closest thing to a grandchild that she was going to get from us in awhile, but my dad on the other hand made it quite clear that just because we got a dog doesn't mean that we can put off having kids longer!

Here he is...sorry it's sideways!
Travis and Cooper are in heaven!
Derek has always been a dog lover...I thought they looked so cute asleep together.
Derek thought it would be fun to put Cooper on Rem's (my families dog) back. Cooper was terrified and Rem was just like whatever.

St. George

Last weekend we got to go down to St. George for Chance and Logan's blessing! We had so much fun! The weekend didn't start out so well....we realized halfway down there that we forgot our church clothes, I was sick Friday night (sorry again guys), I lost a contact Sat. morning.....but Saturday afternoon on was much better! My poor husband got to witness firsthand one very emotional girl. He was extremely sweet, even though he didn't know what the heck was wrong with me! Anyway, Saturday afternoon we set up a giant blow up waterslide that everyone had a blast going down. Jace went down multiple times and cried after each time, but he kept on going! That night Brian, Ashlee, Ryan, Marissa, Travis, and I stayed up talking til like 1:30 in the morning! We had so much fun talking and laughing together, seriously, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard or so much! I love my in-laws! The blessing was great! Rissa found the cutest outfits for them and they looked adorable!! All in all a great weekend and I loved the warmth! I told Travis I wanted to move there...I don't think he realized I was serious :)

Aren't they the cutest twins?? Precious I tell you.

Beautiful Logan
Chance just chillin with Uncle Dal. Dal is completely out, there's another picture below.
Rissa and Ashley on the slide, they were having the hardest time getting up, and laughing didn't help any!
Cole and I staying completely warm and dry, enjoying watching everyone else get wet!

Travis was feeding Chance and needed a drink, so I gave him a bottle...it looked pretty funny!

I accidently put this one on again and can't figure out how to delete it, but they're cute enough to see twice!
Cole loved playing with the twin's swings, he finally figured out how to stand in it and thought it was the greatest thing! Even when he fell off backward, he was still laughing.

After each time that Jace went down, he would cry and say "That's too cold for me" as he's shivering...so cute!
Jace and Aunt Rissa. He wouldn't smile at me so I could take a picture so Rissa was trying to get him to smile. He started laughing and I got this cute picture!

International Kite Day

The Turner's have a tradition of flying kites on the Saturday before Easter, known worldwide as International Kite Day! It is such a fun tradition! Apparently my husband hasn't had the best luck with Kite Day and can never get the kite to fly, but this year he broke that with the help of good ol' Buzz Lightyear. Yay Travis! The highlight of the outing was definitely our nephew Jace (it seems to be that the children are always our entertainment!). He was so hilarious! He really got into it and was screaming and yelling, yes he even got a little physical when his Superman kite was getting tangled up with Papa's Batman! We all were laughing so hard and wondering where this kid comes from! Also along with flying kites, we had a barbeque and then Mimi and Papa (Travis' parents) hid our easter baskets outside in the dark! They made it so fun for not only the kids but also the adults! What a fun tradition!!

Jace downing Dad's Dr. Pepper. He had to make sure he had every last drop!

Jace and Travis
This is Jace mid-growl at Papa and his Batman kite! Hilarious!

Cute little Cole! I absolutely love this child!
