Tuff Guy

To go the dreaded 2 month appointment, I dressed Beck in his "Tuff Guy" outfit. And that's what he was. I'm pretty sure I cried more than he did when the mean nurses gave him his immunizations. Yep, I'm that mom. I couldn't help it. Even though it only lasted like 30 seconds, he has never cried like that and I felt SO bad for him. If I can't even keep it together for this, how am I going to handle it when he breaks a bone, or when his friends are mean to him!

In other news, our little man is growing like crazy!
He now weighs 11 lbs. 9 oz. and is 25 in. long!! That's 46th percentile for his weight and 97 percentile for his height! Travis was thrilled with the measurements and kept talking to Beck about growing to be 6'5" so he could be a quarterback or a pitcher! So cute.

And this was him on our way home from the Dr. Obviously it wasn't too traumatic for him :)

This week in pictures

Of course they are all of our little monkey.
I might as well name our blog Beck's blog.
He's taken over our lives, it's only natural he take over our blog.

Beck has been loving his bouncer lately. He loves to stare at the toys that hang down and occasionally will even bat at them. I'd like to think its intentional but it very well could be just arm flailing :)

Who knew it was possible to fall asleep during tummy time.

Grammy and Beck. She sure is loving this whole grandma thing.

I don't think there is anything sweeter than sleeping babies.

Here's Cooper having tummy time with Beck. Cute, yes.
But right before Coop tried to play steamroller with Beck.
Poor puppy is still trying to adjust to having to share our attention with this little person.

I've got myself some competition

Meet Lily Grace
This precious, 6 lb. little peanut waltzed right into her Uncle Buddy's heart

I know Aunts and Uncles aren't supposed to have favorites,
but sometimes you just can't help it.

Beck and Lily are 6 weeks apart. I hope they grow up being great friends.

Now Travis can't wait until we have a little princess of our own someday.

Babies babies everywhere

I had the privilege of throwing (along with Mollie) one of my best friends a baby shower this weekend. It has been so much fun to be able to share the pregnancy process with her and now I can't wait for her sweet little Ellie to come!

It is interesting to see how we are at a time in our lives where most of our conversations revolve around our babies...our pregnancies, our births, our baby's developments, sleep and eating habits, etc. Put a bunch of moms together and we could talk for hours about our babes.

Kim opening her gifts....doesn't she look fabulous?? Pregnancy sure looks good on her!

Yummy food table decorated so well by Mollie!

Kim, me and Mollie

Most of the shower attendees...we missed a couple who had to leave early.
Kim, I'm so excited for you and Clay and can't wait for Beck and Ellie to be best friends!

Bathtime

Little man's finally a fan of bathtime. All he needed was constant contact with the warm water. We have also discovered he loves showering with Daddy. Its so nice to not have him scream and flail the whole time!

Oh my, I could seriously eat this child up. Are you seeing his adorable chub? The little rolls on his thighs, the fat crease in his elbows....so stinkin' cute!

Celebration

I thought I'd switch things up a bit and put a picture of us first instead of our sweet baby.
Ok, actually I forgot to add this one and stupid blogger doesnt' let you rearrange the pics.

I had a fabulous birthday weekend! When the day starts out with your husband getting up with the baby so you can sleep in and then makes a delicious breakfast, you know its going to be a good day! We then headed out for the 2nd annual Karlee Turner birthday hike with the Andersons.

We even bundled up the babe and took him along. He loved his first hike.

That night, Travis arranged a date night with all of our friends at The Cheesecake Factory.

We were so glad everyone was able find sitters :)

Here we all are...Johnsons, Us, Browns and Andersons (well at least half of them...Nate, you were missed). We always have the best time together...its not that often that you find a group where all the wives AND husbands get along so well.

And here's a second look in case you wanted to see us again...

Thanks to everyones birthday calls, texts, and messages. I have great friends and family that make me feel very loved!

Dear Beck,

Tomorrow you will have been in our lives 6 weeks. It sounds so cliche to say it, but I never knew time could fly by so quickly. When I think about how much you have grown, I find myself torn. I can't wait for the milestones to come- for you to interact with us more, smile, talk, laugh- but at the same time, its sad to think you are already not my little newborn anymore. I swear you changed overnight. One day last week I looked at you and couldn't believe how different you were looking. You all of a sudden looked like a baby instead of a newborn.

You are such a calm, content baby. You have made the transition into parenthood so easy for us. You pretty much only cry when you are hungry. But there is no waiting or grace period...once you decide you are hungry, I have to feed you fast, or else there will be some intense screaming going on. You are a great eater and got the the hang of nursing right off the bat. Your love for food is slowly becoming apparent in your ever growing cheeks and rolly thighs. I love that I finally have a little something to squish and can't wait for you to chunk up.

If you aren't hungry, the only other time you get fussy is when you want to be wrapped up in a baby burrito. It took me awhile to learn this, but once you get wrapped all tight and have your binky, you are perfectly happy.

I know every parent feels this way, but your dad and I think you are the most adorable baby ever! We could stare at you all day long. We think everything you do is so cute- the crazy facial expressions you always pull, your random little coos, your sneezes, even your squeeker like hiccups. Everyone comments on what a beautiful baby you are, and we couldnt' agree more.

You are becoming more alert everyday. You love to look around at the world with such an intense look on your face. Its like you are studying everything and trying to take it all in. You now can focus on us and we love it when you look up at us. When we talk to you, you look like you could smile at any moment and we can't wait until you do.

You have been a good sleeper right from the beginning too. You only wake up twice during the night to eat and usually will go a 4-5 hour stretch which your mommy loves :) You have never had your days and nights mixed up and always go right back to sleep once your tummy is full. As hard as it is sometimes to be woken up in the middle of the night by your cries, it makes it all worth it when I pick you up out of your crib and start talking to you. You stop crying immediately and look up at me, knowing that I am going to feed you.

You bring so much joy into our lives, unlike anything else. We love you little guy.
