one

Happy Birthday to this darling boy of ours!

To say we have loved the last year with you would be a complete understatement. Who ever would have thought you could have such an overwhelming, consuming love for such a little guy?

Well, you can. And we do.

hobble creek half

I ran the Hobble Creek Half Marathon yesterday with Kim and Rache. As we were waiting to start, I looked around at the thousand people there, thinking "We are all crazy! Who runs 13 miles for fun?!"

But, it honestly was fun.

Sure, I thought I was going to die several times during the race. But I didn't :)

Running with great friends made the world of difference. I would never want to run this long by myself.

My goal was to finish in under 2 hours. I've never been a fast runner, so this was pushing it. Well thanks to Rachel and Kim for pushing me so hard, I finished in 1:56! I was beyond thrilled! That's a 8:51 average pace which is faster than I've ever run! Wahoo!

{last .5 mile...right after I crossed the finish line...and then when I saw my time!}

I had the most wonderful support group. It meant so much to me to have my family and my in-laws there to cheer me on. They were staggered at 3 different spots during the last mile and boy, did I need their encouragement! That last mile felt like 10, and I would be lying if I said I didn't get a little teary when I saw them :) Thanks again family!

Now, Travis deserves his own little shout out. The picture above (bottom left corner) is just one example of the many thoughtful things he did for me. The night before, he washed, folded and laid out all my running gear for me along with the cutest good luck note. I sure love him, and am so lucky to have his amazing support!

{We couldn't resist taking a few shots of the babes together...who knows, you may see this on their wedding video}

Yesterday, I learned that I could push myself more than I ever thought possible. And that feels so good. Such an sense of accomplishment! I can't wait for the next one :)

one year

I took little B to do his one year pictures. Loved the bright wall and his outfits (even if they are winter clothes). However, we did cut it a little too close to bedtime which resulted in a not so happy baby. Oh well. The things you sacrifice for good lighting :)

Lets just focus on the cute pictures. Not the fact that my baby is turning one next week.

{the toy octopus and baseball were not intended to be props...we got a little desperate in trying to hold off the tears}

{showing off his "so big" trick}

{and, we're done}
Sorry for the ridiculous amount of pictures. I simply couldn't narrow it down :)

picnic in the park

Someone please tell me why we haven't done this yet??
A perfect summer evening to enjoy a picnic in the park.
And we needed this- we've been feeling the effects of our baby has an early bedtime induced house arrest- so needless to say, it felt good to get out!

park city vacay

Every year my family heads up to our condo in Park City. Even though it's not very far away, I love the fresh, clean air, and the beautiful mountain scenery. This year was definitely a little different thanks to a certain little someone, but fun none the less! Our trip consisted of relaxing~~pool time~~eating WAY too much crap~~alpine coaster rides~~gorgeous mountain runs~~shopping trip(s) to the outlets~~much to early alarm clock (baby)~~thanks to the built in babysitters, some alone time with the hubs~~"minute to win it" games~~ and of course, quality time with the fam!

{upper left corner: Beck DID NOT want anyone taking him from his papa!}

{our little water baby wants nothing to do with his floating boat now...he's all about swimming with his floaties like a big boy}

{first sucker. this kid doesn't get sugar very often, but boy when he does, he goes crazy! I can't wait to see him devour his birthday cake!}
