arrange a marriage

Beck and I (the husband had to work) met Clay, Kim and Ellie for dinner the other night. I don't think it's going to be very hard convincing our children that they want to get married. She is quite the beautiful little princess and he is tall, dark and handsome. They're perfect for each other :) See look, Beck is already showing interest in her.

Don't worry Ellie, Beck won't be bald forever.

And this one I just threw in for fun. Take a look at those beautiful blues... I can't get enough of that face.

pound the pavement

Well, not quite. Its much too cold to run outside like I would like.

The treadmill is the next best option. I love to run....I really do. I love being in my own little running world and I love how good (and bad) I feel afterwords. To make it even better, I ran my butt off to this awesome soundtrack. Too bad I was too out of breath to sing along.

{this was actually my project happiness for a couple days ago...but I got behind :) }

get out of the house

Even if it's only to your local Target.

Yesterday was one of those days. By 6 o'clock Beck and I just needed to leave the house. So we set out to Target to get an awesome deal on diapers. We even got a $5 gift card!

Ah. The simple joys.

Take a picture

Then edit it!

Yesterday, the husband contributed to my Project Happiness.

It's true. He made a stop on his way home and bought Photoshop for me. He chose to use his own money (in the form of a bonus from work) to get me a gift that he knew I wanted desperately and would be extatic about.

He loves me you know. And this is just one of the ways he shows it. Boy am I lucky to have snatched such a wonderful man. He really is too good to me!

Beck wasn't so thrilled with our little photo session. Apparently he didn't understand my need to have brand new pictures to play with.

{P.S. I'm really loving this whole focus on what makes you happy business. I've noticed it often translates into being grateful and I don't know about you, but I could always be better about that.}

first foods

We have tried a couple times to introduce Beck into the world of solid foods, but it wasn't until today that he actually became a fan. Now that he knows what to do with it, I'm pretty sure he's going to start gobbling this stuff down.

so sleepy

Beck has a hard time making it to bedtime
after he takes his afternoon nap.

So I give him his bink, lay him on the couch
and he takes his little cat nap.

He looks so sweet while he sleeps.

And today's project happiness is along the same lines....

I took a fabulous sunday nap.

Doesn't take much to make this girl happy :)

I heart 9 am church and my baby who takes good naps.

project happiness

My longtime friend had the most fabulous idea
to get out of the mid-winter slump we all so easily slip into.

Go here to read all about it.

Today's contribution to project happiness was
snowshoeing with the husband.

This outing made me happy on so many levels:

Getting to spend the entire afternoon with my best friend.
Enjoying nature at its finest.
And driving home completely spent...I'm going to be one sore girl tomorrow.

I have to give a little shout out to the husband for orchestrating this new found hobby for us. It was his idea to get us snowshoes for Christmas and I am so glad we did!

I like winter??

{cabin off the trail in Millcreek canyon}
I know it sounds crazy,
especially coming from Mrs. Anti-Winter,
but I may acutally be turning over a new leaf.

We set off to go snowshoeing this weekend.
The trail ended up being so packed down that we didn't need the snowshoes.

Why is it that I have never before considered hiking in the snow?
It was gorgeous and made my butt sore...
my two favorite things about hiking.
And now I'm acutally looking forward to the next snowstorm.

Is being able to look at this face

Month 4

Ok, it's not funny anymore.
This boy has got to stop growing so fast.
His daddy loves it. It makes me want to cry.

At four months,
Beck weighs 14 lbs 13 oz (44%) and is just over 27 inches long (97%).

He changes so much all the time,
I feel like I have to document everything these days.

Here are some tid bits on the boy:
He eats like a horse. Honestly, I can not believe how much this kid eats. I started putting rice cereal in his bottles a couple weeks ago because he was never satisfied. He eats on average 7 oz with rice in it! How am I ever supposed to keep up with this boy? For the time being, I'm only nursing him first thing in the morning and then pumping and giving him bottles the rest of the day. Not so fun.

Bedtime is a dream. Bath-lotion rubdown-pjs-book-bottle-singing-sleep. This boy loves his bedtime routine and goes down so wonderfully. He sleeps 12 hrs straight at night and wakes up kicking and smiling. I love it!

He is so inquisitive. Loves to grab, touch and feel.
He is a very serious baby. He's always looking around,
just trying to take it all in.

Beck has found his voice and loves to talk all day long.
With that, he has started to express his opinions and has learned how to complain.
Not quite a cry...just a complaint. Its pretty comical.

He is so much fun right now!
He is more and more interactive everyday and we love playing with him.
This boy is a complete joy.

holiday happenings

We had a wonderful holiday season.
Even though Beck had no idea what was going on,
it was still fun to have a little one around during this time of the year.
{Christmas morning}

{fun times with the fam}

{Beck always has this look on his face...its like he's surprised all the time}
