I can finally start loving Utah again

My dislike for Utah started about 6 months ago. It comes every year with the winter. I know its coming, and I should be used to it by now, but every year I grow to hate (a strong word, I kn0w) the long, cold winters here. Luckily, the warmth does eventually come, and the valley does turn green again, and makes it possible for us to have wonderful Saturdays like this one. We spent the whole day playing outside and I was one happy girl. We went hiking up Yellowfork canyon and it was beautfiul!
However much I hate the winters and say I want to move, I would have a VERY hard time leaving the mountains. This picture doesn't even do it justice....
And here is me in all my pregnant glory. Our hiking backpack actually helped balance me out...
I love my husband and I love hiking...its the best that I can enjoy both!
Here's to many more hiking excursions this summer!

Mission Accomplished

My idea of a "good" Saturday is one where I get things done. I thrive on that feeling of accomplishment, and in my mind, Saturday is a day to work on my "To Do" list. If I had my way, I would wake up early every Saturday and go crazy all day. Luckily, my husband has a different view on how a Saturday should be spent and has helped me to relax a little. Last Saturday was full of accomplishment, and I loved it! We (yes we, this was one of those times where I forced my will upon my husband) cleaned out the baby's room, both of our closets, and the storage closet underneath our stairs. We dejunked, organized, and moved boxes and boxes of stuff up to our new shelves in our garage. By the time we were done, we had 8 garbage sacks, a couple bins, a box, and a TV to take to DI! I should have taken a before and after picture...I couldn't believe how much CRAP we had! It felt so good to get rid of it and as we drove away I felt so liberated! What a great feeling. Now I can get started on our little guy's room. Thanks Trav for all your help, even if it did waste your Saturday :) You are great and I'm so lucky to have a husband who will help me do the not so fun things like this!

Mother's Day weekend

Ahhh, what a great weekend. And not just because the weather was glorious. Finally.
It all started with Travis and I spontaneously running a 5K Saturday morning. Yes, me and my 5 1/2 month pregnant self ran a 5K....Ran is a relative term, it was more of a trot/shuffle, but I still managed to make pretty good time and I was just proud of myself for doing it! I was planning on just walking it, but the rest of our party didn't show up and I didnt' want to walk by myself, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was proud of Trav for running the whole time too...he's been sick for the past few weeks with a double ear infection and a sinus infection, and hasn't run for probably a month, so this was quite the accomplishment for him too! Go us.

That night, we went on a date. Just the two of us. Trav asked me out earlier in the week and I was looking forward to it all week! I was kind of surprised at how excited I was...I mean, we're together all the time...its like one perma date. But there's nothing like going out with your husband, holding hands and enjoying each other's company. I sure love him. We did some shopping, hit up the driving range, then ate dinner at the new Skybox Grille in South Jordan.

Talk about attractive! I'd heard rumors from friends/family of how Travis can crush the ball and let me tell you, the rumors are true...he can hit that ball SO far!
Don't mind my form...I look pretty much the same as I felt...Awkward. Luckily, Trav lets me go up to the deck so I at least feel like my ball is going somewhere. Even if it is only 5 feet in front of me.

And this my friends is what my sweet husband got me for Mother's Day....

Isn't it cute?! He came up with the idea and picked it out all on his own. He's great!

And here is another lovely belly shot....23 weeks baby! If you're thinking that there is a big difference between this one and the one a couple weeks ago, you're right. I feel like its growing bigger everyday!
