Happy Love day!

I have always loved Valentines Day...even though most of mine have been missing a "special someone", my mom has always made Valentines a Day of Love instead of just a day for couples. Now that I am have someone that I am madly in love with, Valentines day is even more wonderful!
I started the morning off by making the infamous Valentine Scones...one of my mom's best friends has been bringing them to us every Valentines day morning for as long as I can remember. The recipe has been always kept a secret, until you get married...then you get the recipe and all of the necessary tools and ingredients to carry on the tradition with your family! I tried them again this year (last year, my first attempt was not so good) and with a little help from the original Valentine Scone maker herself, they turned out so yummy and it was fun to take them around to our friends!
That night, Travis made me a delicious dinner (its ok to be jealous) consisting of steak, roasted potatoes, asparagus, and artisan bread. Mmmm, mmmm, mmm. He even decked the table all out with candles and everything...seriously, who needs a restaurant when I've got this?! After dinner we went to go see the movie Taken. Honestly, it was the best movie I have seen in a LONG time! I loved it...and my husband loved me even more for not making him see some lame chick flick...even though he offered :)
We had a great day!

A sideways picture of the darling place settings I got on clearance...gotta love Target!
The scones, ready for delivery.

The beautiful dinner table, with the beautiful flowers Travis got me as the centerpiece.

So, so yummy! I'm still trying to figure out how I got so lucky to marry a gourmet cook!

Ah, we're cute.

Wow, those look delicious! The scones, and the meal. Good work Turners! You sure did luck out with a gourmet cook! So, I'm still sad that I did not get to see you over Christmas Break. You are an all star Karlee! I learned my lesson in PLANNING ahead. I missed seeing you and my fave cousin because of my lack of planning (and lack of car). So please plan on seeing me next year-as long as you are in town!
