We're (we means me forcing husband) about to take on some home renovations, one of which is painting over the white on white that is throughout the majority of our house. The indicisive part of my character is not lending itself to be very helpful.I've had these (this is only one wall that is covered in swatches!) up for like two weeks and am still not much closer to making a decision! I'm struggline because I want whatever color I choose to make a statement (otherwise, why paint?), but I am terrified of making it darker in the room (our house does not have tons of natural light).
So how about each of you come over and give me your opinion? But you have to come over twice, once with all the daylight and then once at night, because the colors change dramatically. Ok? Thanks!

I just want to come and see your house "before" so i can fully indulge in the "after"!
Yeah I would say go lighter for sure! those middle ones look dark, but so hard to tell because I'm sure it looks different when it is actually painted on! Good luck with that sista
I think putting all those swatches up was a great idea. Honestly, I like the darkest one the best. The gray really will compliment your yellow. You could just paint the wall next to the curtains and the wall behind the couch. I can't wait to see it all finished!
I like the 2nd row the best. It looks very pure. The first row is too light, but the last 2 rows seem to have a faint hew of green in the grey. Love your curtains by the way!
Go much, much lighter than you think, or if you find a color you love that may be too dark, add in 1/2 white to lighten it up. Tessa's room was a blue so pale it looked white, but once we had painted the entire room, it suddenly looked way darker. Also if you're just going to do grey and white, consider painting some of your doors, it adds a pretty pop of color against the white molding--much faster than painting a whole room! Our whole house was painted a pale khaki before we moved anything and I sure wish it was white!! P.S. request swatches from Farrow & Ball, they have some really amazing rich grey's, then home depot can just match it for you!
Go with something on the 2nd row (that would be 2nd from the top). If it gets even darker at night then I would say those are your best bet overall.
I am such a fan of gray right now. My opinion? Go lighter than you think, but don't be afraid of the color. Embrace it!
I want to see your cabinets!
I love gray and yellow together! I did my whole house in a darker gray and love it. However if you really don't get a lot of natural light go lighter. In fact you might want to go another direction all together with lack of sunshine. Maybe that is why you are not any closer to deciding? Try out some other color swatches on the wall, and see which one hits home. I love your curtains by the way!
