3 months

At 3 months, this little lady:

-Refuses a binki. I'm not giving up though, I try everyday.

-Is definitely a mama's girl. Beck could have cared less who had him, but she prefers me and behaves best for me. While its kind of a pain sometimes, I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me feel good :)

-Sleeps like a champ (thank you!) and has given up her 5 am feeding all on her own. Hallelujah.

-Smiles and talks all the time now and it turns me to mush.

-Still has crazy, out of control hair. It has gotten quite a bit longer, but continues to stick straight up. I secretly don't want it to lay down...it fits her personality.

-Still a diva. Boy does she let you know when shes hungry. Don't even think about putting her down when she's not done being held. You'd think her life was over. She's so dramatic, it's sometimes comical. All I can say is that we are in for it when she's older.

-Doesn't like to be swaddled anymore. She started breaking her arms out everytime, so I just stopped and that was the end of that.

if only we all could wake up this happy

When this little doll wakes up, its no loner crying I hear in the monitor, its adorable coos. She wakes up happy as can be and has a little party in her crib- talking away, kicking her legs and flailing her arms- until I come down to get her. As soon as she sees me, she gives me the biggest grin. It makes my heart almost burst every time.

blessing day

Blessing days are a favorite in my book. Travis does such a wonderful job of giving our kids beautiful, unique blessings. Its days like these that always leave me filled to the brim with gratitude for my own little family, both of our families and the great friends we surround ourselves with. We have a lot of people that love and support us and we sure are grateful for every last one of them.

Lola played the role of pretty little princess quite well. She looked beautiful in her ivory dress and coral bow. Travis' mom got her these adorable, dainty little crocheted sandals and I painted her itty bitty toe nails :)

The Turners were gracious enough to let us BBQ in their backyard with everyone afterwords. Man was it HOT. By the end of the afternoon, all of the kids stripped down to the undies (diaper for beck, ugh) and ran through the sprinklers. Lola was spent (sick of having short little naps), so we stripped her down and she snoozed in her aunts arms.

We love our little lady and are so blessed to have her in our family.

2 months of Lola

2 months? Really? And I thought time flew by the first time. Sadly, just as everyone with tell you, it goes by even faster the second time around. Our little Lola bean has brought so much joy to our home. We all adore her (her big brother a little too much sometimes). I'm amazed at how much her personality is showing through. She's quite the little diva and the girly drama has started already :)

She went through the 'normal' fussy stage from weeks 4-6, but once we got through that, she's been a delight. She's settled into a pretty good schedule too (I do have to note it took a bit more work to get to this point than her brother): sleeps from ~7:30-8 getting up once around 4 (she's gone until 6:30 twice this weekend and we're crossing our fingers it wasn't just a fluke!), eats every 4 hours, goes to sleep about an hour to an hour and a 1/2 after eating, and naps until it's time to eat again. Just like her brother, her nightly bath is her favorite part of the bedtime routine.

This not-so-little girl is growing like crazy. At 2 months, she weighs almost 12 lbs and 24 inches long. She is 78% for her weight, 81% for height, and 75% for her head---so very proportioned and very big!

We can't get enough of her smiles, coos, and her crazy, out-of-control hair!

Once again, a whole bunch of instagrams. Which are really the only pics I take lately--it's just so convenient!

Beck @ 2 1/2

2 1/2 might just be my favorite. I could probably say that about every age, but really, I feel like we've turned a corner lately and I'm loving (almost) every minute of it.

This boy is happy, sweet, funny, smart (a little too much), loving, playful and we are a bit obsessed with him. Do we still have our tantrums? Of course, he's 2. But they are few and far between and we're able to reason and talk through things (except for when he's tired...that's a whole nother story). He has learned to make good choices and he's come a long way with sharing and taking turns with others.

Some of my favorite Beck-isms:
- He's a tease (from the same mold as his father) and he thinks its hilarious to respond with "I love Daddy" (with a huge mischievious grin) when I tell him I love him. Then when I give him a pouty face, he immediately says "I love and daddy mommy!"
- every night when we go to bed, he runs to the side of Lola's crib and says "Oh, she's so cute" and blows her a kiss. And even though I'm worried about him waking her up, it makes me smile every.time.
-When he wakes up from a nap, he always excitedly proclaims "Mom, I had a good nap!"
-Whenever he does something nice, or is obedient, he will always say so proudly "It makes mommy happy" and will sometimes add "daddy and baby sister" too.
-He always wants to shoot hoops and play catch. Its funny how he only asks daddy to play those with him. he sometimes gets confused and calls his mit his "hoop".
-We read a story from the children's Book of Mormon reader (on daddy's ipad) every night and he wants to read the same one over and over- Alma 32 on Faith. i don't know how he does it, but he somehow is able to go to the reader, find the Book of Mormon, go to Alma and find the one he wants- chapter 32. It's crazy.
-I have always sung "You Are My Sunshine" to him at night and now he will sing along, but when I get to the last line (...Please don't take my sunshine away) he'll get that little grin on his face, put his hands on his cheeks as he waits in anticipation, and then say "I take your sunshine away! Ha ha!" and scoops up air in his fists. It's hil.ar.ious.

And now, a ridiculous amount of instagram pics of my little love:
